Much Wenlock is an attractive town in a rural Shropshire setting that includes the villages of Bourton and Homer. There’s a great community spirit, but that isn’t matched by its local governance. It plainly isn’t working harmoniously; there have been employee problems that have been hushed up, freedom of information requests denied, councillors have resigned and spending on legal disputes is high.

The Town Council’s meetings are a daunting prospect for visitors and its website has all (or most of) the information, but not displayed in a way that is easy to follow. It has social media accounts but they seem to concentrate largely on local traders’ special offers.

This website sets out to highlight issues and themes, in a hope that you’ll become more engaged in local affairs and help to ensure that our money is spent wisely.
